With US President-elect Donald Trump announcing on December 13 that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is to become the new Science and Technology Adviser – leading the White House Office of Science and Technology – discussions at this festive season’s social gatherings are bound to get even more heated than the mulled wine.
Volleying from one topic to another, before long, the climate change debate will kick in. And if it doesn’t, lean in and bring up the subject. That’s what I’m going to do. The planet cannot wait for us to merely hope for a change in consciousness – we must instigate it. Whist Palin promises to “get rid of climate change hysteria”, I am preparing for a tsunami of dissent whilst trusting that I will contribute in setting the record straight.
Far too long has the Chinese narrative over climate change kept our economy in a rut. It’s time to open the pumps, and as I like to say: Drill, baby, drill!
– Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor
Climate change denier excuses may range from the weather actually getting icier, to the entire topic being a political hoax. Irrespective of the situation, the arguments are always the same.
Check out a great resource to understand the most common misconceptions and arguments against the reality of man-made climate change. With no-nonsense ways to explain why they’re totally wrong, Climate Reality has published a compelling e-book, The 12 Questions Every Climate Activist Hears and What to Say.
I’ve downloaded this free e-book that’s teaching me how to answer the most common questions every climate activist hears and must know how to respond.
- How can the Earth be getting warmer if it’s cold out today?
- What about the “global warming pause”?
- How can scientists predict climate change if they can’t always predict the weather?
- How do we know it’s because of us, and not a natural cycle or the sun?
- Is it too late to do anything? And more…
As a climate activist, you already know the climate is changing and we need to do something about it. We hope this e-book provides clear, understandable answers to these confusing questions. And if you find it useful, share it with a friend! Thanks for all that you do to protect our planet.
