Mother of two, intrepid entrepreneur, fashion muse, foodie at heart and fitness junkie in spirit (she is currently conducting teacher training in Madonna’s fave new holistic dance system, bodyArt). The ways to describe Harathi Reddy Rebello are many. She’s the co-founder of one of India’s leading online poker companies PokerHigh – along with her husband Mithun. She’s the networking sensation that doesn’t even need a social feed as her real-life connections are so strong. Above all, this sassy Reddy girl that grew up in Michigan but made India her home is always on the lookout for ways to live more optimally, for herself and for others.  Here’s what makes her tick…

My Biggest Inspiration Is…

My father. I get my passion for wellbeing from him, both physical and mental. He is a relentlessly devoted person. Even on the treadmill, he recites his mantras. Always willing to fight for a good cause while he runs his own award-winning business in the US and is about to run a half-marathon, his energy makes me feel calm.

I Am Always On The Move With…

A healthy snack to keep me going all day. If I don’t eat on time, I become dangerous. I like to carry a power snack pack of zero sugar protein bars, nuts and dry cranberries.

I Like To Chillax With…

Music. Whenever I get agitated about anything I listen to music to centre me. My SoundCloud playlist always has a good doze of jazz, opera and trance.

The Holistic Indulgence I Cannot Do Without

Naturally sourced products. My family runs a coffee estate in South India and even though I live miles away, produce that is grown and nurtured with love, always tastes better. Apart from delicious coffee, we are even getting avocados from our estate now, so these days it’s guacamole all the way.

My Go To…Beauty Regime

My hair is my crowning glory. I love incensing via Sringara, a traditional Indian beauty regime for women. I just love the aroma of it enveloping me. I take my pick from Forest Essentials, my all-time favourite brand for Indian beauty products.

A Book… On My Shelf

harathi

It’s been sitting there for a while, as I have two young children who leave me little time for literary pursuits but Salman Rushdie’s ‘Enchantress of Florence‘ awaits discovery. It’s a fascinating story of a mysterious woman commanding her own destiny in a man’s world.

Have To Have It…

Good Food! I am quite the foodie and don’t believe in deprivation. My best friend Lisa is still amazed at how I could polish off four egg dosas in one sitting without gaining weight. That was many moons ago, nowadays I eat everything that’s not junk food, but with mindfulness. Thanks to my South Indian heritage, I grew up enjoying countless variations of rice dishes. So I always try to have a flavoured rice dish in my meals – be it with tamarind, lemon, mango, etc. When I’m in the mood, I’ll send my wicked Mutton or Prawn Biryani over to friends. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I’m popular…

Melts My Heart…

I love children and it saddens me to see so many homeless kids roaming our cities. Even though I always keep boxes of biscuits in my car to give away to them at traffic lights, I knew that this was not enough. This led me to starting a home for children in Delhi, called the Welfare Centre for Abandoned Children. We provide a healthy and caring environment for abandoned children, and work with adoption agencies to find them happy homes. If you would like to contribute to or help Harathi’s welfare centre in any way, reach out to her on Instagram @harathiloves
