The bodyART® training at the AYU Retreat starts on Sunday, May 28, 2017 and finishes on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Participants are encouraged to arrive on Saturday, May 27 (or earlier).
How long is the AYU Retreat?
All-inclusive packages are available for stays from 7 nights to 15 nights. Those who wish to maximize their training time are encouraged to arrive on May 27 and depart on June 11.
Who is conducting the training?
The bodyART® training in India will be conducted by Ulli Mangold, the Global Master Trainer of the Robert Steinbacher bodyART® International Community. Ulli is also a certified yoga instructor.
Who can participate?
Because this workout protocol is based on functional movement designed to maintain optimal vitality and fluidity throughout every part of the body, bodyART® training is perfect for everyone: men, women, youth, golden oldies, as well as amateur and professional athletes. No prior experience with bodyART or yoga is required. Each training session at the AYU Retreat will be limited to 15 participants, thereby ensuring more personalised instruction and coaching.
What treatments are also included?
Manaltheeram combines traditional Ayurveda and a beach resort. It offers specific programmes to treat skin disorders, stress, stomach-related diseases, and chronic pain. To compliment your bodyART® training, Ayurooms has selected a “Rejuvenation Package” for all participants in the AYU Retreat. This includes 90 to 120 minutes of body treatments daily. This package is also flexible — there is no requirement to undergo a strenuous diet; there is no fixed number of days or weeks that you need to stay, and you can choose to focus on any health goal that you wish.
What about yoga?
In addition to bodyART® training, participants have the option to attend one yoga class and one meditation class a day, on a complimentary basis as part of their package. Yoga is offered according to skill level — beginner, intermediate, and advanced — at fixed times daily. Each session lasts for 90 minutes. Meditation, which includes pranayama (breathing exercises), is offered twice a day for 45 minutes. Private yoga instruction can also be arranged on request for $12 per session. Manaltheeram has both indoor and open-air yoga spaces.
What facilities are there?
Manaltheeram has free wifi, a beautiful pool, business centre, 24-hour reception, room service, beach service, cultural programmes, cooking classes, and a left luggage room to store your suitcases in case you plan to travel locally for a few days. If you need local currency, Manaltheeram offers reasonable exchange rates.
Tempt your palate
Manaltheeram’s restaurant features an exotic buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves Indian, European, Asian and pure Ayurveda cuisine, with an endless variety of raw and cooked vegetarian dishes, labelled according to dosha type — this helps you to select the right foods for your body constitution. If you are not on a wellness diet, you can order fresh seafood and chicken dishes à la carte, at extra cost.
What are the rooms like?
In all room categories at Manaltheeram, guests have the choice of either a king bed or two twin beds. For the AYU Retreat, two categories of rooms are being offered: BRONZE and GOLD. Gold rooms have air conditioning and offer a full sea view. Bronze rooms are slightly more spacious and have a ceiling fan, but no air conditioning or sea view.
How much will it cost?
Bronze packages start at $1,250 per person for 7 nights on a twin-sharing basis.
Gold packages start at $1,450 per person for 7 nights on a twin-sharing basis.
